For the Birds

This month is my mom's Birthday, so of course I made a card.  I also wanted to send her a low cost gift she would enjoy.  While surfing the Internet I found a recipe to make these cute birdseed molds.   so I gave it a try.  The first recipe I found didn't turn out too great, so back to the Internet I went and found a recipe that worked perfectly on the blog My Mommy Makes It. Kaitlyn and I had a blast making the gift, and I used bags paper and ribbon that I already had to package them.  My mom loved her gift.

I used the leftover paper from the card to decorate the package.

Elk Grove Turkey Trot

This year before our Thanksgiving Feast we decided to participate in the Elk Grove Turkey Trot. Fortunately for me my good friend Kim cooked for us so I didn't have to worry about trying to get stuff done before or after the run. Kaitlyn participated in the 1/4 mile race. Deniz and I ran/walked the 5K as the kids rode in the strollers. All The proceeds went to benefit Courage House, which is a great charity.

Oops One more thing for October...

In all the hustle and bustle of October I almost forgot one very important milestone. Owen took his first steps on Friday 22nd of October. At just over 10 months old. Of course now he is practically ready to run a marathon.

Pictures are a little blurry, he was quick.

Busy Month of October

October was an extremely busy month for us. Along with all the assignments for my Master's program. We went on a trip to Disneyland, threw a Birthday Party for Kaitlyn, planned a Birthday surprise for Deniz, celebrated Agatha's Birthday and Halloween. Wow I don't know how I got through the month.

Disneyland
We drove to Disneyland and took my mom with us. It was so much fun, Kaitlyn had a blast. I think Owen enjoyed it too. I'm pretty sure Kaitlyn's favorite part was meeting Tinkerbell and playing hide-n-seek with her. It was all pretty magical for me, just getting to see the expressions on Kaitlyn's face was well worth the trip.

Kaitlyn's Birthday Party

A fun painting party for Kaitlyn's 3rd Birthday. Kaitlyn had a blast at her Birthday party, Nana Claudia did face painting. Which all her friends at the party were boys, so she was the only one willing to get her face painted. All the kids had fun painting the outline of their body.

A Day at Fog Willow

For the past two years we have gone to Fog Willow Pumpkin Farm to get our pumpkins. This is such a great place for the kids. This year we made a day of it. Deniz, Owen, and I went and picked up Kaitlyn from pre-school and headed to Fog Willow. Both Owen and Kaitlyn belong to the little pickers club which means they get a free pumpkin every year until they are 13. Not only do they have pumpkins, they also have pony rides, hay rides, a giant hay pyramid, a play area, petting zoo and a mattress trampoline.

Halloween

Being that this month was crammed packed with activities we didn't end up carving the pumpkins until the day of Halloween. Which is probably a good thing since the weather was so hot. What a great day, we carved the pumpkins, roasted the seeds and went Trick-or-Treating with a couple of the neighbors. This was really Kaitlyn's first time Trick-or-Treating, last year we took her to our Church for the Harvest Festival. She caught on rather quick and was very excited that people were giving her candy. At one house she said "Happy Birthday" instead of Happy Halloween. It was so cute. Owen just hung out in the stroller.

Daddy Day-Care

My friend Jenna and I went on a weekend getaway to San Francisco to do a little shopping and mostly to see the Musical Wicked!!! While we were away the guys did a fabulous job taking care of the kids. They loaded up the kids and took them to a Country Music concert in Downtown Sacramento. Here are some fun pictures from their day.Kaitlyn, Colin, Michael & Paige

8 Months young :-)

Our little man turned 8 months on the 9th of August. I know I'm a little behind on posting the pictures. We did get some great pictures of Owen and of course Kaitlyn wanted her picture taken as well. Owen is doing great, he has four teeth and two more have broken through the gums. He is getting stronger in his legs and loves to pull himself up. Unlike Kaitlyn, Owens hair is growing like crazy, I may have to take him to get his first haircut before he turns one.Kaitlyn and Owen

First Day of Pre-School

Today was Kait's first day of pre-school. She did pretty good, she started to cry when some of the other girls in the class were crying, so of course mommy started to get tears in her eyes :-( It was quite a change only having one child. So quiet!! When I picked Kaitlyn up she was having a blast and had already met another little girl.
